This graphite drawing is my tribute to Krystyna Trzesniewska, a young Holocaust victim photographed at Auschwitz by Wilhelm Brasse. Using graphite and charcoal on paper, I aimed to capture the mix of innocence, fear, and quiet resilience in her expression — a reminder of the countless lives affected by unimaginable tragedy.
Every pencil stroke carries emotional weight, reflecting both the fragility of childhood and the enduring strength of the human spirit. Through tonal contrast, texture, and careful shading, I wanted to honor Krystyna’s memory and preserve her story with authenticity and empathy.
Share your thoughts, questions, or vision, and I’ll respond with care and clarity to help turn personal stories, memories, or inspiration into something lasting and thoughtfully created.
